Atheer Yacoub is a Brooklyn-based comedian, writer, and podcaster. Her comedy explores themes of immigration, gender roles, and growing up in a Palestinian Muslim family in the heart of Alabama.
Atheer recently released her first comedy album Denied Entry with Comedy Records. The album features material written and honed by the New York comedian over 10 years while frequently headlining sold-out shows all over North America. Her half-hour stand-up special premiered on Comedy Central Arabia in 2018, and was broadcast for a global, multilingual audience across the Middle East. She’s been featured on AXSTV’s Gotham Comedy Live, SF Sketchfest, Boston Comedy Festival and many more. Yacoub also served as a staff writer for sketch shows like The Breakdown and Passport Control on Brooklyn’s Emmy award-winning network BRIC TV. Yacoub is the co-creator and co-host of the critically-acclaimed sketch comedy show, Muslim Girls DTF: Discuss Their Faith, which has won numerous awards including Series Fest Best Independent Comedy Writing, Yes And…Laughter Lab competition, and The Pop Culture Collaborative’s Becoming America Fund.
